Help Us!
Hi There,
Curious how you can help us? Well, it is simple really. Change your browser. Let me, by "me" I am refering to the web developer, explain:
Those of you who use Internet Explorer (IE) are using a browser which is not standards compliant. The standards I am referring to are the official web development and content distribution standards assigned by W3C, the World Wide Web Consortium, which oversees the expansion and creation of web technology among other things.
This website its’ self conforms 100% to those standards. You can see that for your self, at the bottom of the page click on the links that specify the 100% compliance.
Furthermore, IE makes our lives, the web developers, much, much harder because we literally have to do double the work to get IE to display our websites properly, and to also conform to the standards. Bellow is just a small list on why IE is bad:
- It is not secure. Don’t listen to all the garbage Microsoft is feeding you, IE has the worst track record for security than any other browser. Even Microsoft’s new Windows Vista is worse off than Windows XP was.
- It is plagued by pop ups even with the built in pop up blocker.
-
It is not standards compliant. It can not correctly handle certain instances of HTML, and a rather large instance of CSS.
- HTML is used for structural definition of a site.
- CSS is used for styling definition of a site.
These are just a few of the reasons why IE is bad. So, now you ask, where do I come in and where is this article going? Well, you can help out by switching to Firefox. Firefox is the newest and best browser on the internet. Here are just some of its’ benefits:
- It blocks pop up windows much better than IE.
- It is very secure. Much more than IE is.
- It offers the best support for the latest and the greatest web standards, making our lives (the developers), much easier so we can deliver higher quality content to you, our dear viewers.
- With its' robust support for web standards, you are ensured to view web sites with the best visual effects fully enabled.
- Its' fully customizable through the use of extensions. Check your email with a click of a button, or update your blog in an instant. Thousands of extensions are at your fingertips to do as you wish with them.
- Tabbed browsing! Reduce desktop clutter with the use of tabs inside Firefox.
- Last, but not least, it's 100% free!
Now, where this article is going. I challenge you to try Firefox over IE, and see the difference. If you already have Firefox and are using it, I give you much kudos and props. For those of you who don’t, follow the link bellow and get Firefox. Give it a try for a week on your favorite websites. I’m pretty sure you will love how much better it is.

If you are viewing in IE, you will see a blue outline on the edges of the image.
I am leaving it there to show the lack of support that IE has for an image format that has been around and in use since 1999.
The blue area is actually transparent, but IE is unable to cope with the transparency, Firefox does.
Another way to help us out is by leaving a testimonial. By leaving a testimonial and rating the product, you can let other people know how the product has worked for you. By leaving a rating for the website you help me to brainstorm and implement updates on the site if need be. To leave a testimonial, rate the product, or rate the website you have to create an account and log into it.
We sincerely appreciate if you can do any of the above suggestions to help us improve our service and quality.
Sincerely,
PeeDexter™
